Purpose: This study was conducted in order to evaluate the angiographic and histopathologic outcomes of the Hemi neurovascular embolization cover (NEC) in the rabbit aneurysm model. Primary endpoints were patency rates, biologic response to this medical device and performance of the device delivery system.

Materials and Methods: Elastase induced right common carotid artery (CCA) saccular aneurysms were created in 20 rabbits. The Hemi NEC device was endovascularly placed across each aneurysm 14 days later. Angiography was obtained at 14 days and on the day of termination.
