The musical, “The Sound of Music”, opened on Broadway in 1959. The music for the show was written by Richard Rogers and Oscar Hammerstein. I know my fellows will find it hard to believe, but I didn't actually attend the Broadway premier in 1959. However, the musical was adapted to film media in 1965 which I do vividly remember.
